About NOUS
The NOUS Urban Sustainability and Innovation Hub is a collaborative initiative founded by the Municipality of Strovolos, the University of Cyprus and The Cyprus Institute, under the auspices of the EU-funded U-SOLVE programme.
Located in the heart of Strovolos, NOUS serves as a living lab for sustainable urban development and as an incubator for innovation that connects citizens, entrepreneurs, researchers and policymakers.
The name “NOUS” comes from the Greek word for “mind” and reflects the Hub’s identity as a knowledge centre: a physical and digital platform for ideas, data, experimentation and community engagement.
NOUS was created to address pressing environmental and social challenges in urban settings, support sustainable entrepreneurship, enable citizen participation in designing the future of the city, and promote transdisciplinary collaboration across academia, business, public authorities and civil society.
